I usually use a standard wire push on terminal and push it over the metal fin that holds one of the fuses in the fuse box. you will have to widen/open up the terminal a little wider with a flat head screw driver, but it will slide right on and fit snugly. if you are using a smaller gauge wire you will be able to put the fuse box cover back on and have the wire running out from under the cover.
i believe both fuse # 6 and 8 "switched" power. that will only get power when the key is turned. double check the fuse with a voltmeter to see if there is power running form the fuse before turning the key and after.
