When the compressor seized on my 81 240D, it ripped the pulley from the harmonic balancer!!!!

When the new one got installed, I lost charge real quick (like over a few months). Turned out the manifold wasnt true/straight (odd because the compressor that was seized was the original), and so it couldnt seal properly.

I called Phil, he could get a new one, but could also get good used ones, which is what I did to save $300 IIRC. It worked fine.

If it was for my 82, which is much more of a DD, I'd have gone new because of the conditions it sits in, etc. While I try not to run the 82 in salt/snow, it still gts wet/rain/etc., so Id prefer a new part. Since the 240 is far more of a garage queen, I figured the used part was OK and has been to date.
