Pulling a W124 Spindle

I need to replace the spindle on my W124 300D. Previous mechanic (those of you following my cars random problems, yes the same one) didn't replace the wheel seal for the front wheel bearing. Moisture got in and, under a year on the new bearing, pretty epic failure. Half of the bearing is seized to the spindle and the shaft has some rust on it. Replace it?

So I need to pull the spindle, my only real question is, do I need to use a spring compressor or can do relieve the spring with a floor jack? Not looking to lose my head.

Thanks!
