Thanks for getting back guys. My knowledge of ACs is about limited to ripping out old York compressors. However since the unit in the Euro 85, 240D works well and was converted to 135 (?) I might as well keep it. I really dont know what brand it is.

The engine I would be swapping in is an 80 616 with the 12mm GPs. I used the oversize pistons, balanced things, really tried to do a good job and consequently it has more zip than the Euro engine.

I'll check out the info you posted and report back when and if I do this. I would like to have my ducks lined up first as two cars will be down for this swap.

Seems the blocks should be the same so I should be able to hang the compressor and bolt it back to the 80 block.

edit..The 80 engine has no AC
