What you suppose is a fact is a sort of fact, but it is experiential, not unlike communing with God or nature. I cannot say whether or not a person who claims to be communicating with God through prayer is, or is not. I can say that thus far it is an unproven, untestable hypothesis. Most people believe all sorts of untested unprovable stuff. They maybe true, I don't know.

I wouldn't build a bridge using any of them. For things that are of greatest importance to my life, health and safety, I prefer verifiable facts. I dismiss out of hands those things which are unprovable. I guess this is why I have never been one of those people who joins or abhors personality cults: I just don't give a damn what people say or how they look. I am interested in what they said and then what they do.

Show me the facts. If they are congruous, then I'm generally okay that the mouth and the actions are in sync. If they are incongruous I need go no farther with what they say the next time. This is why I would trust an honest believer over a dishonest nonbeliever. I prefer knowing what to expect rather than surprises. A good surprise is, at worst, unnecessary. A bad surprise can be catastrophic.
