Bisphenol A / BPA , a problem?

Bisphenol A: How to reduce BPA exposure from food

I've often heard about it, but never gone out my way too much except I don't microwave or freeze things in plastic, though I never did much of that.

A guy in this piece says he only uses plastic with the # 2 or 5 in the recycling designation. I was pleased to see that the plastic dishes that Trader Joe's sells their hummus in are #5. Pleased because they are of great size and durability to use for food storage. Smart marketing by Joe's. I buy that brand both because it's good and it's like free Tupperware thrown in.

I drink water out of the #1 Crystal Geyser bottles all the time. I even re-use them which might not be a good idea. They have water purifying machines about the size of a coke machine at almost all the Latino groceries. Costs about 12 cents a bottle to refill and the water tastes way better than tap.

Crystal Geyser claims their bottles are fine but of course, they would.
