Buy the best and buy it once. Maintain it and repair it. Don't be a whore to your lawn and LCD TV.

My MIL has a Kitchenaid mixer from 30 years ago that still works. Admittedly my FIL has probably had it rebuilt every 5-6 years, but it made all the bread and coffeecake for seven people in the family for about 18 years and still runs strong today.
