Water sitting at door seals

Hi,

My 82 300CD has not been used for the last few weeks. Ive noticed the following issue before, but this time it was very notable.

It seems that when my car gets rained upon, there ends up having water sitting at the bottom of the door. It seems that it sits just above the door seal that is attached to the door, at the bottom section where it is parallel to the ground.

I get no water in the car.

The seal/strip that is on the car seems to stay dry.

When opening the door, I got a real puddle poured out from the door. A good deal of water. Not good having water sitting at the door.

So, any ideas? anyone see this before? Dont want rust to form...

Thanks!
