Several years ago I replaced the compressor on my '93 190E. Although I recharged the system with R12, I used Ester 100 oil from NAPA that is compatible with R12 and R134A just in case I needed switch to R134A in the future...I still have a jug of R12.

Everything is still working good since replacing the compressor and drier/receiver and I'm still using R12.
