Either the oil is in the water or the water is in the oil.
Neither is a good for your engine.
If you are getting oil in the water, then in addition to the head gasket, you've got a huge mess in the cooling system. I've got a 94 E320 parts car with this problem, and the radiator shop has been trying to clean just the radiator, so I can use it on my cabriolet, and they are still getting oil coming out of the rad after two hot tank sessions. The oil also will cause all your hoses to eventually fail, and if it's this hard getting the radiator clean, I'd hate to think about the heater core....
If you are getting water in the oil, then all your bearing surfaces and critical lube points (think cam lobes) are not getting lubrication and are getting wiped out as you continue to drive the car...
Driving with this problem will quickly ruin your car.
