How to Install a Torque Converter

#1. Pre-Fill a new or drained Torque Converter with fluid...

#2. Put the torque converter on the transmission.
#3. Spin it carefully while gently pushing in.
#4. On the Mercedes transmission you should feel/hear THREE engagements = spin clunk/seating motion, spin it again it engages deeper, keep spinning/rocking until it reaches a third engagement of the torque converter = the torque converter bolt ears must be below the surface of the bell housing.
#5. Failure to get the torque converter bolt ears below the surface of the bell housing WILL BREAK the transmission PUMP.
