As my chassis number is prior to the update, and I appear to need a regulator, lets assume I go with the W140 unit and attempt the mod suggested in several threads.

Do I assume that the wires and their intended purpose is the same? DO I just connect Red to red, blue to blue, brown to brown, pink with alligators to the same pink with alligators?

All posts are the same. use W140, make wires longer. Perhaps someone with experience here can state whether or not all the wires are the same and just connect by colour.
