As we are 100 miles from the nearest city, and if a machine breaks down, we need to drive to that city, or a large town 60 miles away to get parts, the fuel economy is a good part of it. It gets an average of 30 mpg (imp) just driving. It does 16-19 driving with a trailer full of cattle depending on the wind. (100 km.h plus winds are not unheard of here.)
As farmers here, we're allowed to run off road diesel in our trucks on the highway. That makes a significant difference in the cost of fuel as well...

30 imperial gallon,no load! We say 21 tops down here a hypermiler using the tactics might get a little more. and you say you would switch to a detune chip for regualar driving-Hmm--even better mileage?
OK the injectors in these modern obdII diesels are kind of like hybreds of Diesel injectors --ad a old benz owner would know---And current gas efi injectors--high pressure selenoids that open and close as fast as humming birs wings flap---or do they just open and squirt?
