Hello, I did a search on the archives with no results.

I need to replace the bulb on my '89 300SE driver's side
headlamp.
The back access panel on the assembly comes off easy enough
but I can't figure out how to remove the white retaining
ring for the bulb.
It does not seem to twist off, easily at least, and I tried to
push and twist as well.
I don't think you have to remove the whole assembly to change a bulb.
