I replaced the gas cap, and checked that the 2 black lines that connect to purge valve are indeed connected. The "switch" under the windshield washer reservoir is now connected, one line from the suction side of the purge valve and another going to a connection under the air intake. There is a third nipple that sticks straight up on the suction end of the "switch" that is naked. Is there suppose to be a vac line attached?
The overheating was froma leaky water pump that took 2 days for me to change out. Tip- get a correct pump from your MB shop.
