The '07 W211 was the first reliable one IMHO. Stay away from the early ones. The 212 is a very nice car but it really hasn't proven itself yet. Either way, drive both of them and then decide which one to buy. They have a completely different "feel" from one another. The 212 is smoother, quieter and has much quicker steering. The 211 is more comfortable and looks nicer, I think. (Brilliant Silver w/panoramic roof and AMG 5-spoke wheels!) Good luck
