A picture would help.
The switch on the washer tank would be for the light on the dash for low washer solvent.
There should be no hose from the washer tank to the intake manifold.
There is often a spare nipple or plugged hole on vehicles without headlight washers, they will use the same style tank with or without the headlight washers, and just block off where the second washer pump would go.
So no real idea why the washer tank seems connected to the intake.
