Nairobi- A Somali official has said that the Al-Qaeda operative behind the 1998 U.S. Embassy bombings in Kenya and Tanzania has been killed.

Officials have determined that a man killed by security forces on Tuesday was Fazul Abdullah Mohammed.

Mohammed, a native of Comoros Islands, was on the F.B.I's most-wanted terrorists list. He had a US$5million bounty on his head.
