The Robin with its three wheels got round a loop hole in British law which meant that anyone with a motorbike license could drive it. You didn't need a full car license. There was a time in the UK when bikes were more popular than they are today and were considered to be an alternative form of transport rather than just a chance to dress up in leather on a Sunday...

They did make a 4 wheeled Robin too - but it was called the kitten
