om603 blues

Hi guys i have an 86 300sdl its been sitting for 2 years the previous owner told me that she had just returned form a long drive out of town and about 15 min from her house the car started losing power , and that it had only enuff to barely make it down the road... i went to get the car and attempted to start it with a hot battery i loosened all 6 injector lines and cranked it fror about 15 sec all lines were wet with diesel so i closed them and sprayed a little starting fluid in the air filter and i held the throttle 1/2 way and it started right up , but the engine started running at about 3000 rpms without my foot on the accelerator, i never thought to turn the key off but when i went back under the hood and pressed the emergency stop lever it did nothing to shut the engine down .. iworked the throttle linkage back and forth fromunder the hood and it didnt affect the idle either way , the rpms would not increase or decrease ,i managed to loosen all the fuel lines and even had to brake the fuel line going to the filter to get it to stop being in a hurry to avoid blowing the engine! i figured inthe beginning that the wastgate valve mounted on the turbo was bad because i had an 87 that slowed down and the diaphragm was ruptured in the valve mounted the turbo housing with the vacuum line going to it.. if any one can help me id appreciate it ..im almost afraid to start it again ihave no clue where to begin, it has 300K engine looks to have been well maintained and clean for a diesel.
