You can stop it by shutting off the fuel or the air. Since you apparently do not have control of the fuel, take control of the air. Before you start it again, remove the air hose from the air cleaner to the turbo. Have a block of wood, or metal that you can slap over the turbo's intake to completely block the air flow. Now you can safely attempt to start it after each thing you fiddle with in an attempt to find the problem.
