Not sure how the insurance will be handled.

If I read the post correctly, it was your rental property's garage being burgled and not your own home's garage. The stuff stolen belonged to you and not the tenant.

Rental insurance normally does not cover owner's belongings. Not sure that you have a claim against the insurance.
