I've never had bad luck buying, selling (or even renting out my apartment while traveling or finding business clients!) on Craigslist. It's a lot easier psychologically to screw someone over that you haven't met. Face-to-face transactions tend to be more honest. Craigslist is theoretically more anonymous, but in reality less anonymous since the contact is generally made in person.
Plus, cash is always better than dealing with the scumbags that are PayPal

That's where we disagree then. Having gone through CL folks that don't keep appointments; want to negotiate prices down to the last second; lowball and trade offers; and then the risks of meeting up at some location . . . eBay isn't so bad.
When was the last time you read in the news about somebody getting hijacked, mugged or otherwise physically messed up while closing a deal on eBay?
