Lightbulb Don't give in just yet!!

There are some other things you can do to increase your connection speed. You would have to tell me a little more about your connection (i.e. how long has it been at 28.8 and brand of modem and is it a new modem and is it in a different location in the house, etc.) but we can try some fairly simple modem settings such as initialization strings to enhance your speed.

Also, around here (Michigan) the phone companies only guarantee 14.4 connection so anything more than that is "ok" as far as they are concerned.

Is this something that occured "all of a sudden" or has it been doing this on and off forever?
Has there been any lightning in your area since this happened?

My first test would be to go to the manufactureers website and download the latest and greatest driver for the modem. (mfr of the computer, not the modem)
