That has not been my experience. Over the years, I've lived on a rural route, in the suburbs, in town, and now in a somewhat rural suburban area. I have always received great service from USPS. I guess their business model is a bit shakey, but for 44 cents, they will deliver a letter anywhere in the country, quickly and with extremely high reliability. That's the best bargain out there. 44 cents!
