Sitting

Our '96 E300D (W210, OM606NA) even has the rare/expensive pneumatic seat option but I still prefer sitting in my 124 and it doesn't even have the later-model foam corner bolsters (but I'm skinny, a big person might find them very nice).

The 210 also has a stiffer suspension; perhaps the market demanded it but I prefer the softer ride of the 124. The interior of the later 124s is much less "drab," I think. With a little modifying, I think I'd like a 1995 E300D with an OM603 engine, especially if the simpler electronics of the older car could be retrofitted.

The NA I-6 diesel does indeed leave a lot of working room in the engine compartment; you can almost "walk around" in there.
