USB flash drive question.

I just bought a cheap ($19) Centon 16G USB flash drive. The intended purpose was to transfer a movie from my desk top (win XP Pro SP 3) to the USB and play it on my Blu-Ray.

I was able to transfer a 1.7G file, 2G file and a 2.7G file. When I try and transfer a 5.7G file it says that there is no room on the drive. I formatted the drive and when I look at the properties it says there is only 15.1G free. Not sure what could be on there but I still have plenty of room to add a 5.7G file. How do I transfer a larger file onto the drive?
