It would have DELAYED what we have today but not stopped it. It is in mankind's nature to fight whether it is over *******, oil, land, crops, water, etc, etc. Mankind has been fighting for eons before oil was even a consideration and mankind will fight after oil becomes irrelevant. The tactics, weapons, banners we fly and reasons will be different but we will still quarrel, no matter what.
