The conversation makes me realize that there's been a massive population die-off in the spiritual world. In almost every philosophy of religion class at US universities, at least a third and perhaps half of the class will be spent discussing the existence of one single non-physical being; God. This is quite odd since looking at the span of history, most people who believed that God existed saw it as just one amongst a whole populated universe of non-physical beings. Angels, demons, archangels, devils, spirits etc. It's comparable to the Cretaceous-Tertiary extinction event in the physical world.
