That's sort of like saying a Hummer is better than a 500E because someone too the 500E on the Rubicon 'cause and now it's all bent up.

Go with whichever one you want. I'm just saying that the OEM padded ones are plenty strong enough if you remove and install them with the appropriate amount of care. they don't have to treated like gold leaf. By the same token, you can't expect them to look pristine if someone just jams them back in any old way.

If you're one the type of person who treats their car roughly, then by all means, get the plastic ones. however if you do things with a little extra care around your car, the OEM ones should, for the third time, be plenty strong enough. Personally, I think the hard plastic ones look cheaper than the padded ones.

The bottom line is that there is NO functional difference between the hard plastic hoses or the padded hoses. You're just able to be more careless with the hard plastic ones.

I, personally, am very careful around my cars. it doesn't mean I keep them in a glass box; I drive them, and I have no qualms about driving them hard. The difference is in knowing how to drive hard in a gentle way vs. driving hard in an i-don't-give-a-s%#@ way.

the same goes for dealing with these hoses. if you just exercise some restraint and care with them, they should be fine. If you can't be bothered to take care of them, they'll get bent. It's as simple as that.

In your original post you expresed some consternation at the fact that the hoses in your car were bent and you seemed to feel that straight replacements would not hold up as long as the plastic ones. I'm just trying to tell you that there's nothing wrong with the OEM parts at all and that your crushed hoses are more likely a result of someone being too lazy to handle them with the appropriate amount of care.
