fwiw-...I've seen many (many) of these M119 hoses in the condition of hedpe's.....and most likely appears to be due to the engine compartment heat/ turbulance/ removal-install effects over time (natural breakdown)

in other words, structure/ materials get soft over time and fail to hold the engineered shape

hedpe- bring your car to the dealer and have them test fit JimF's style hoses prior to buying them (should be ok)
