I'm not entirely sure that the incorrect cam shaft would give you excess wear over the right one. If the cam fit the bearings and followers it shouldn't wear any faster than the right one, would it? I has all the markings of a bad part but that might be hard to prove at this point. Most parts have a 90 day warranty but some are longer. MB parts might be a year but that's something you would have to inquire about.
