SpeedNJay: have you removed the EGR system entirely? Not likely the cause of your issue, but good to do anyway. Make sure all turbo system connections are tight so as not to lose boost or exhaust pressure. Turbo is very simple device. Maybe you are experiencing a fueling issue?
the egr is still functional. i cant remove it because california makes us smog diesels and i would need to bypass the electronic ecu parts which im not too interstested in doing. i dont think its a fueling problem ..it has fresh fuel filters, lines and runs perfect if it were a n/a car. . if i had to take a guess it seems like the turbo isnt even piped into the intake. maybe the intercooler broke in half. this weekend is the only time i have the time to check it out. i get off work and the engine is piping hot then a few hours later its dark out.
i'll pull the underside and pressure check the intercooler and piping again and inspect the turbo
