No, there are no part numbers printed on these (at least that I can find). However, there are some numbers stamped on the straps; I will post some pics later tonight. Looking at the numbers, I've realized another incompatibility that will actually make looking for compatible checks easier next time I am at the junkyard.
On the straps there are two sets of numbers. The first appears to be the manufacture date. All of the '82 300SD straps have "02 82" stamped on them (well, except for one that has "01 82") which must be the manufacture date in MM YY format. My '83 have "04 83" stamped on the strap.
The second number is the length of the strap from the center of the furthest ball stop position to the center of the hole for the pin. The '82 300SD checks are stamped 100 mm. From what I can make out from my busted '83 240 check, the strap appears to be stamped 95 mm - which is the measurement I get on that dimension when I piece it back together (strap is busted in two).
I'll pull one of the good door checks off my '83 tonight and get some pics to post.
