I don't have an issue with the youngsters taste in cars, whatever he likes is his own taste. I would be worried that he is too hung up on peer pressure and how he is seen socially. This is a dangerous and scary pattern. I would feel better if he put little or no importance in such a thing, this would indicate his not being a follower, socially speaking. A youngster that is a follower is all but doomed in the midst of todays enormous peer pressures among teens.
I would not point out such a thing were it not that if I could go back about 10 or 12 years I wish someone would have pointed out this pattern to me.
