While his accomplishments - if true - sound most impressive I'd point out that running the country is not the same as running a business. So brilliance in the latter may not necessarily translate to ability in the former.
And of course it's all academic if he doesn't get the nomination anyway. But if he does, it'll certainly be an interesting fight. I have a nasty suspicion a large section of the liberal left will attempt to portray him as an uncle Tom.

He is ALREADY being portrayed as an Uncle Tom and an Oreo by the left!
As far as running a business versus running a country, this doesn't wash. One of the main problems with BO is that before entering the Whitehouse he had ZERO executive experience. He had never so much as run a lemonade stand when he was ten years old. He's a very nice guy and is a good family man, but he just entered office with an inadequate skill set.
Herman Cain's lack of political experience and existence of EXTREMELY successful executive business experience is a HUGE plus for him IF he could get the job. The problem is that he has no experience at all with the sneaky tricks that an experienced politician is well versed in. That is what will prevent him from getting the nomination.
That said, he's a quick study so if he were by some miracle to make it through the primary and to the general election, he may have enough political experience and savvy at that point.
BTW pj, I don't think his race will be a major factor one way or the other. I've said before, I think in this thread that I was in the Army and very good friends with someone so much like Cain that it is uncanny. People that take the time to get to know him, will like him and trust him.
