Let's say he got some opportunity because he was black. What's significant is what he did with his opportunities.
What I've encountered are folks who every step of the way were preferentially enabled and STILL, to this day, do sub-standard work AND have a contemptuous attitude.
That's what I think of as an AA problem.

I have yet to read that he spent any time in the military, but if he was born in the EARLY forties, then that would explain why he graduated from college in '67. If that's the case he probably went to school on the GI Bill AFTER the military as I did.
