I like my W123 for many reasons, one of which it is noisy and smelly. When some a** is tailgating me, I blip the throttle and watch as the tailgater rapidly changes lanes trying to avoid the diesel exhaust. I like having that big mass of an engine block under the hood knowing if someone hits me I at least have a fighting chance of survival.

In the event of a head on collision, the engine is not going to drop down and slide under the car, instead it is going to protect me from the ricer who is trying to inflict pain and injury upon my person. Give me a big smelly noisy diesel and I'm happy.

I also like going down the road at 70MPH and hearing that big five cylinder breathing fire, at least the car has PERSONALITY.
