When the key is turned on all of the computers are supposed to start talking, but if there is a fault the computer may stumble & not talk as soon as it's supposed to. Many times the problem w/ASR is safety neutral switch or brake lamp switch, or even misadjusted accel cable. A complete computer diagnostic is needed to formulate the problem. Also the left throttle actuator can fail & cause this fault. Listen to MAC & take car back for further diagnosis.
