It cost us a few billions every time we crashed one. We also crashed plenty of space craft on unmanned missions. Funny how the same kind of attempt to get us off foreign oil, and endeavor many would say has more potential returns to the US than flying around in space, is "different" to these right wingers. The real truth is that only the government can afford to take those kinds of risks, business would never do it.
