Hey, I'm all for performance. I have a fair bit of mods and I run 9lbs of boost on my daily driver 300TE 4-M. I also run two catalysts on the car. Would it have more power without them.... a little yes. Is that little bit worth turning a daily driver into a gross polluter... not in my opinion. It's a daily driver, not a race car. If you gut the catalyst on any driver, I assure you it wont be a race car. It will still only be a daily driver. Just one that I wouldn't want to be associated with the brand that I love.

Don't take it as a personal attack. I'd love to see your car with a nice custom exhaust and either the stock catalyst or possibly a nice high flowing aftermarket catalyst if you can tune the engine to take advantage of additional flow. With a near stock engine I'd be careful about going too large of diameter. It will drone like crazy, even with a catalyst.
