I have to agree with the Pooka.
We've had one for over a year, and it still looks new. You have to stay current with the cleaning. Its easy to keep it clean if you do it every day, but gets difficult to impossible if you let the burned crap build up.
I do most of the cooking, and yes, its different from gas, but not much different that other electric ranges.
