Thanks for that, I'll test it when I get a chance.

I think the issue is somewhere in fuel injection... Maybe blockages or leaks that evaporate to quickly to spot!

Also, there is a box attached to the injection unit "potentiometer"? or something like that?? Mine was falsely adjusted by a not so specialist mercedes mech. - perhaps this affects it also....
