About 20 yrs ago the first engine I pulled here was out of my Datsun PU. think it weighs 475# plus the weight of the 5-spd. I didn`t have an engine hoist, but do have a chain hoist.

I ran a 4X6 beam across the celing joists of the old barn. one end I placed a 4X4 under the joist/beam, and secured it so it couldn`t move. the other end sits on a wall that divides the 2 halves of the barn. it is very secure and solid, I used it 2 times before I acquired the engine hoist that I use for the MB`s.

I have always pulled the engine and transmission as a unit.

This is not exactly the safest way to pull an engine.

there were three HP ratings on the OM616...

1) Not much power
2) Even less power
3) Not nearly enough power!! 240D w/auto

Anyone that thinks a 240D is slow drives too fast.

We are advised to NOT judge ALL Muslims by the actions of a few lunatics, but we are encouraged to judge ALL gun owners by the actions of a few lunatics. Funny how that works
