From what's you've said I don't think it's the turbo. I would not take it apart yet. Your more likely to get things to rub with the engine off as there is no oil pressure creating an oil film on the bearing surfaces.

I'd look at your accessories. Alternator or AC compressor to see if they are the problem. I'd give all moving parts in you car a good shake down. Wheel bearings, drive shaft support bearing but I doubt it's them. Something under the hood.


Not that I've tried to grab a spinning compressor to find out.
