While I am one who likes synthetics, but not to the point of being religious about the whole thing, I
would point out that synthetic oil is a real benefit to cold morning startups for those of us who live where it gets extra-frosty in the winter months.
But really, folks: Has anyone ever heard of a motor failure, or read about a motor wear issue, related to the use of dino vs sythetic oil? That is, not one related to neglected changes or use of cheap oil outside spec for the vehicle....
I have been on car forums since the mid-1990s and I cannot recall one....
