Again, many thanks for all the helpful hints. Most of them are so sensible that I am a bit embarrassed that I didn't think of them myself. But then again --- I can't even remember to turn my headlights off. As for the annoying buzzer, it died a couple of years back. Think I'll implement one of these clever plans rather than repair the buzzer.
