Use of Prewired GPS Antenna?

I bought a hand-held GPS unit, for use in my ML and hiking. I am thinking to use the prewired GPS antenna in MY2002 ML. I checked around inside the vehicle and found couple of potential points that I can tap into the antenna wire.

One is behind the MCS unit. I am almost sure that it is the antenna connector for a factory GPS unit and it should be live. The only problem is that the connector is proprietary type and I don’t exactly want to cut it and attach a BNC connector.

The other possible connector I found is under the passenger seat. There is a big pigtail of wires under the TeleAid unit, which I think is for phone integration. Can I tap it here?

If the first place(behind MCS) is the best solution, does anybody know where I can get a female connector to go with it? The male plug on the wire is a plastic squarish coax connector. It has been reported that it should be plugged into the factory GPS unit when the OEM GPS is installed. Thanks!
