American Restoration
I know this is just entertainment, but ....
Yesterday on History Channel, they did a sequence of American Pickers, American Restoration, and Pawn Stars where the end result was a perfectly restored '57 Chevy 150 coupe for roughly $76,000.
Is this the market value of a perfectly restored '57 Chevy 150 coupe?
Seems to me they could have gone to Mecum's Auction on Velocity and picked up a completed one for roughly half that, but then there would have been no show (3 hours revenue lost).
American Restoration seems to place some interesting values on their completed work, which may make sense on a $$$/time basis, but you wonder why the purchasers spend that kind of money for the end result (which admittedly may have sentimental value).
