How can a question be a non sequiter?

You and a few others have stated opinions supportive of the UC Davis police. I have no training or experience with crowd control, but your opinions seem contrary to everything I have read and heard about the incident. My question is whether you have anything authoritative that supports your view. It's not a non sequiter. It's an honest question.
